Stockholm, Sweden, 3rd September 2024 - Global video solutions provider, Accedo, has worked with Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (SBT), one of Brazil's most prominent TV networks, to refresh and launch its new OTT video offering, +SBT. The video service was launched on August 19th, surpassing the 1 million download mark, making it the top free app downloaded in Brazil in Apple and Google Store.
Launching this month, +SBT will bring its 187 million viewers across Brazil free, ad-supported access to a wide range of exclusive video content, including popular TV shows, news programs, and events from the broadcaster’s more than 100 channels. The AVOD service, which also features FAST channels and content on demand, will be available across mobile, web, and a range of connected TV devices, including Smart TVs and Chromecast.
+SBT has been designed and developed by Accedo, leveraging the company’s extensive experience developing multi-screen user experiences, and its award-winning OTT product suite.
Roberto Grosman, Chief of the department of Digital Transformation, SBT, commented: “With this AVOD service, we are bringing thousands of hours of content to our viewers in an engaging and intuitive video service. Accedo, with its vast experience building video user experiences, was a natural choice to partner on this project. The team’s knowledge and expertise has really helped us deliver a service we believe our viewers will want to return to time and time again.”
Martin Sebelius, SVP EMEA and Latam, Accedo, added: “As one of the largest TV networks in the Latin American region, SBT has a huge amount of popular content. Bringing that to an AVOD service is making that content readily available to an even larger audience, while increasing monetization opportunities for SBT.”
+SBT is available across Brazil. Accedo will be exhibiting at IBC on booth 5.D68 from 13th – 16th September. Book a meeting.
